By plane to A Coruña
For international attendees, we recommend flying to Madrid, the capital of Spain. Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport [Google Maps] offers frequent connections to cities around the world [see destinations].
A Coruña has a local airport (Alvedro Airport [Google Maps]) with flights to and from Madrid, Barcelona, London (Gatwick), Milan, and Geneva [see destinations].
A Coruña Airport has a bus service connecting the airport to the city every 30 minutes [see information]. Taxis are also available, with an approximate fare of 20 euros to the city center [see information].
By train from Madrid
It is also possible to travel from Madrid to A Coruña by train [see information]. Two types of service are available:
- Regular train: journey time of about 4.5 hours, price around 45 euros.
- High-speed train: journey time of about 3.5 hours, price around 65 euros.
Trains depart from Madrid-Chamartín station [Google Maps] and arrive at A Coruña’s San Cristóbal station [Google Maps].
By plane to Santiago de Compostela
Flying to Santiago de Compostela Airport [Google Maps] is another option. There are flights to and from Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London (Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted), Paris, Zurich and other destinations [see destinations]. From there, you can reach A Coruña by taxi (approximately 80 euros, 45 minutes) or by train (options from 5 euros, 30 minutes). There is no fixed timetable here, so you will need to check the schedule on Renfe’s website. To get from the airport to Santiago’s Daniel Castelao station, you can either take a bus [see informatio] or a taxi (approximately 25 euros, 13 minutes).
