Theme Section: Data-intensive software product lines on International Journal on Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM)

Following the SPLC’25 conference, we are pleased to invite you to submit an extended version of your paper, whether from any SPLC track or from another venue, or to contribute an entirely new manuscript for consideration in a special section of the Journal of Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM’s term for a special issue).

The journal submission may share substantial content with your SPLC’25 paper but will also provide meaningful extensions. Examples of suitable additions include, but are not limited to:

  • Amore comprehensive related work section
  • Additional concepts or contributions building on the conference version
  • Extended evaluation, new case studies, or further experimental results
  • Other relevant material that deepens or broadens the original contribution

As a general guideline, we recommend that the extended paper includes at least 30% new content relative to the original version.

We would very much appreciate, if you could let us know by December 10, 2025 whether you are interested in submitting an extended version of your SPLC’25 paper to the SoSyM special section.

The deadline for submitting your extended version of the paper is January 15, 2026. Please note that your submitted work will undergo the same rigorous reviewing process as all SoSyM submissions do and that therefore there is no guarantee that the work will be accepted. Please see https://www.sosym.org/review_process/ for a description of the SoSyM review process.

Instructions on how to submit your extended version to the SoSyM online document will be published in the SPLC’25 website before the end of the year. Currently SoSyM is moving to a new submission system (SNAPP) that will be ready by that time. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
